WHAT IS THE PAYBOX SYSTEM? HOW DOES IT WORK?
Thanks to the technologies used and the absence of printed documents mentioning the card number in plain text, we assure you that it is more secure to pay with your credit card on sites affiliated with the PAYBOX SYSTEM than in most everyday stores. All payment phases to be carried out between the buyer and PAYBOX SYSTEM are fully encrypted and protected. The protocol used is SSL coupled with bank monetics. This means that the information related to the order and the card number do not circulate in plain text on the Internet.
> The card number is not printed on any paper, invoice, receipt, or other listing.
> The merchant does not know the card numbers.
> PAYBOX SYSTEM does not store the numbers on its server.
Thus, no one has access, either electronically or on paper, to the card details of the buyers. The risk of having your card number "hacked" during a purchase on an Internet site with the PAYBOX SYSTEM is minimal.
THE DIFFERENT SECURITY STEPS
At each payment request, the buyer switches from the merchant server to the PAYBOX SYSTEM payment server, in connection with the banking world.
1. The buyer arrives on an SSL encrypted payment page,
2. Entry of the card number and authorization request. The connection between the buyer and the PAYBOX SYSTEM server is established in HTTPS, a secure protocol with SSL, which encrypts all exchanged information. This protection ensures that the card number cannot be intercepted in plain text by a third party during its transfer to the secure PAYBOX SYSTEM server. The PAYBOX SYSTEM home page informs the buyer about their purchase: presentation of the merchant's name (which guarantees that the merchant has been authenticated).
3. When the card number has passed a first level of control (Luhn key, opposition, etc.), the PAYBOX SYSTEM server sends an authorization request to the bank's center to which the merchant is affiliated. This is done via Transpac, using standardized banking protocols.
4. The bank's authorization center returns an authorization number or a refusal. If the payment is accepted, PAYBOX SYSTEM then performs the following operations: - display of the payment ticket on the buyer's screen (option) - sending the payment ticket by email to the buyer and the merchant - However, the card number is NEVER returned to the merchant.
5. The buyer is then automatically redirected to the merchant's server, where they can continue their visit.
A specific process, developed by PAYBOX Services, allows PAYBOX SYSTEM to monitor the behavior of the cardholder in real time, in particular to prevent the use of the payment server as a tester of automatically generated card numbers, or for other types of attacks:
> search for BIN by increment, derivation, or mask
> multiple attempts with different expiration dates
> random cardholder IP addresses
> "nomadic" card, etc.
Check that you are in secure mode when paying online. In this case, a closed padlock appears at the bottom of the browser window. All merchants using PAYBOX SYSTEM to manage and secure their transactions are identified by PAYBOX SERVICES and by a Bank. A Remote Sales Contract (VAD) identifies them. The buyer is protected.
WHAT IS PAYPAL? HOW DOES IT WORK?
SECURITY OF YOUR BANK INFORMATION
When paying with PayPal, you do not enter your card number on all the sites where you shop. Paypal will never share your bank details with payment recipients.
FRAUD PROTECTION
You are fully covered in case of fraud. This means that if your financial information is used without your authorization, you will be fully refunded.
DATA ENCRYPTION
PayPal's security and prevention tools are among the most efficient on the market. All data stored on your PayPal account is encrypted. Paypal's prevention systems detect attempts to defraud your account. If in doubt, the account is automatically blocked and Paypal contacts you immediately.
EMAIL CONFIRMATION
Every time you receive or make a payment via PayPal, the system sends you a confirmation email. If you receive a confirmation email for a transaction you did not make, notify Paypal immediately so they can respond effectively.
